Meizu has unveiled their new PRO 5 flagship 5 days ago in China, and the device has just been certified in the country. This is the company’s second flagship for this year, they’ve also announced the MX5 back in June. The Meizu PRO 5 is a significant upgrade compared to the MX5, and we’ll talk about that in a minute, but let’s first tend to new developments here, shall we. As most of you know by now, the PRO 5 has launched in 3 and 4GB variants, well, only the M576U variant has hit TENAA in China this time around, but the M576 has arrived a couple of days ago as well. It seems like both the 3 and 4GB variants are ready to get launched in China, and according to the company, that will happen on October 12th. That being said, let’s take a look at the PRO 5’s specs real quick, shall we. The Meizu PRO 5 will ship in 3GB RAM variant which sports 32GB of native storage, and 4GB RAM model which will arrive with 64GB of storage on the inside. As far as the rest of the specs go, these two devices are identical. The Meizu PRO 5 sports a 5.7-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) Super AMOLED display, while a 3,050mAh battery lays on the inside. The 21-megapixel shooter is available on the back of the PRO 5, and a 5-megapixel snapper can be found up front. Android 5.0 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with Meizu’s Flyme OS installed on top of it. The device sports the mBack physical home button which doubles as a fingerprint scanner, and also serves as a capacitive back button and touchpad of sorts. The mCharge fast charging is also a part of this package, and same can be said about 4G TLE connectivity (both TD-LTE and FDD-LTE are supported).
The Meizu PRO 5 will be available in Grey, Silver White, Silver Black, Gold and Rose Gold color options. The 3GB RAM variants is priced at 2,800 Yuan ($439), and a 4GB model costs 3,100 Yuan ($490).
