With the official announcement of the new Moto 360 today which was previously available via Moto Maker, droves of Android Wear enthusiasts who have been eagerly awaiting the next generation device from Motorola to arrive are likely trying to get in there and customize their own watch and place their pre-orders. The actual page for Moto Maker seems to be going through some hiccups at the moment likely due to high traffic of everyone trying to purchase the watch, so it may or may not be possible to open up Moto Maker when you initially attempt it. The best advice here is to simply wait a few seconds and refresh and give it another try. There are a few more customization options for the watch this year so this will be an exciting experience for anyone who has been looking forward to this particular device launch.
The customization options includes custom bands and colors for the case as well as the bezel this year, and at the very last step Motorola has included an option to customize the new Moto 360 with a collection of various watch face options. This is similar to what they did with the Moto X in Moto Maker where they let consumers customize the wallpaper that came on their device as default out of the box, so it isn’t too much of a surprise to see them do this with the Moto 360 as well. For those that haven’t yet been able to get into the Moto Maker tool to customize a watch, there are quite a few watch face options available that you can have Motorola apply which would come as the default watch face option when your watch gets shipped out.
In total there are 14 different watch faces which you can choose from during the customization process, and selecting any one of them will ensure this is the watch face you see the very first time you turn on the Moto 360 after receiving it. Motorola stresses though that you can always change the watch face at any point, so it’s likely that every single watch face you see in the Moto Maker tool as an option will be installed on the watch and can be changed out at your leisure.
