Some racing titles are all about the race around the entire track against multiple other vehicles, but MMX Racing Featuring WWE keeps things a bit simpler and focuses solely on the drag race. For the most part you’ll be racing bigger vehicles like trucks and other offroad vehicles head to head against your opponent, with big cash as a reward which you’ll need if you want to upgrade your ride. The races are short, fast, intense quick matches that are sure to get the blood pumping if you like the sound of revving engines.
Before you can start beating your opponents on the strip you’ll need to head to the Play Store and download MMX Racing Featuring WWE.
MMX Racing is all about drag races, so each race is short and fast, making the game easy to pick up and play without having to dump too much time into it. This way if you only have a few minutes you could simply do a few races and be done with it.
You start out with the tutorial to get acquainted with the game, which includes buying your first ride. You even get to name your ride so personalize it with tons of different name combinations which is kind of cool.
Since these are just drags the controls are simple and playing is easier than you might think. All you have to do is tap your finger on the pedal button to accelerate. No worrying about breaking and no worrying about turns, it’s all about timing of the acceleration.
Winning races gets you cash, and earning cash is how you’ll upgrade your ride so you can compete against faster vehicles. Winning in those more difficult races earns you more cash which you can use to buy faster trucks.
Throughout the course of the game there are 10 different events to compete in and a collection of 30 tracks to race on giving the races some variety and the game itself some replay value.
Each race will cost a certain amount of tickets to compete in that specific race, with some or most costing one ticket and others with bigger rewards costing 2 tickets.
You’ll get to play single player and face off against tons of different opponents, including wrestlers from WWE like The Big Show, John Cena, The Undertaker and more. There’s also now a multiplayer mode so you can face off against other real players and test your skills against them.
When it comes to racing games I usually prefer the type where you can race around the track and control your car, so I wasn’t sure I was going to like MMX Racing at all but I was actually quite surprised at my enjoyment of the game. It’s easy to play and doesn’t have to take up much of your time so you can pick it up even if you only have a few minutes which is great. The graphics are also pretty top notch and there’s plenty of eye candy. The gameplay was nice and tight and controls were easy to pick up and learn as well.
