Virgin Mobile Boosts High-Speed Data Amounts At No Charge

When it comes to smartphones, phone plans, and carrier offerings, it seems everything comes down to data these days. And why shouldn’t it? The thing people use most on their phones now is likely data related, so it should make sense to see most carriers now catering to the data users over others who just simply want calling and texting. Nearly all carrier plans come with data now, and Virgin Mobile wants to give their customers more of it at no additional cost. Virgin Mobile customers heard that right, the carrier wants to give away more data to users for the same cost.

For starters, this applies to Virgin Mobile’s unlimited plans, which begin at $35 a month and come with unlimited talk, text, and data with the first 250MB of that data being high speed. From $35 it jumps up to an additional $10 for a total of $45 a month which also bumps the amount of high-speed data up to 1GB from 250MB. Lastly, for those who use the most data, Virgin offers the $55 a month plan which bumps the high-speed data amount up to 3GB from 1GB. Now, these are all of the previous amounts, and as stated Virgin Mobile is upping these data amounts as of today, which means any customers who are already on one of these plans or will be setting up a plan with Virgin Mobile will be able to take advantage of the new data buckets.

For $35 a month, Virgin is giving users 1GB of high-speed data instead of the 250MB they were getting before. For the $45 a month plan, users go from having 1GB of high-speed data to 3GB, tripling the amount they had before these plans took root. For the last and final plan which costs the $55 a month, high-speed data was bumped up to 8GB a month from the previous 3GB. All of these data increases are quite a bit and should bring a ton more value to those who are currently using the plans or those considering the switch. Those who need even more data can add on a data pack for either $5 or $10 extra month on top of the plan they already have, which gives them an additional 1GB or and additional 2GB of data respectively.
