Earlier today, Fossil finally announced their Android Wear smartwatch, dubbed the Q Founder it’s part of a new line for Fossil. The Q Line is a new initiative from the fashion brand to offer up modern accessories with the sort of style and look that fans of the brand have been looking up to for years. The Q Dreamer and Q Reveler are activity trackers, for women and men, respectively. The above photo is all that we have so far, but we do know that Fossil is taking an interesting path with these, and won’t be producing proprietary software, that we know of right now, at least.
Both the devices feature leather bands that people strap around their wrist like a FitBit Flex, but feature leather and metal, rather than silicon and plastic. The bands will cost $125 and be available starting October 25th. Both of them will track your activity and movement throughout the day and into the night, but they will allow you to sync to Google Fit, UP by Jawbone or Under Armour’s UA Record app. This makes the Q duo of trackers one of the few that allows you to use whichever service that you like to keep all of the data together, and for those that want a good-looking activity tracker, Fossil have finally delivered. Subtle LEDs will update you on notifications as well as progress throughout the day, and for all intents and purposes, these two new bands look like a more fashionable FitBit above anything else.
Today the firm also announced their first Android Wear smartwatch, powered by Intel and Google. It joins the two bands pictured above, as well as the Q Grant (also pictured above), a traditional watch that offers up some smart functionality like activity tracking and vibrations for notifications. The buttons on the Q Grant can be assigned to certain contacts for quick messaging and calling, but it’s really a compromise devices between Android Wear and Swiss-precision. Hopefully, we’ll have more information on all four of these devices shortly.
