Telltale Games has come out with some news on Wednesday that might be of great interest to lovers of the ‘Game of Thrones’ series. The independent game developer based out of San Rafael, California, has now announced that it will be making the first episode of ‘Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series’ free with immediate effect. The episode, titled ‘Iron from Ice’ is now already available for download from Google Play for free. Of course, it’s not just on Android that the first episode of the game has gone free, but also on all platforms the game is available through, which includes PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and iOS. The company had already made the first episode of its ‘Tales from the Borderlands’ free previously.
Telltale Games has also announced that it is just a few weeks away from releasing the much-anticipated season finale of the game. According to the company’s announcement on its official blog, ‘Episode 6: The Ice Dragon’ will hit digital retail stores on November 17th, simultaneously on all of the platforms mentioned above, including Android. Announcing the impending launch of the season finale, Telltale games wrote on its blog, “The fate of House Forrester has been in your hands all season long, and we’ve tailored the finale to provide a uniquely harrowing conclusion for each and every player based on the decisions they’ve made in the game thus far. Consider this fair warning”.
For the uninitiated, ‘Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series’, is an adventure fantasy video game based off of the HBO fantasy drama series ‘Game of Thrones’, which itself is based on George R. R. Martin’s ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ fantasy novels. The video game was originally launched last year, and has since become one of the most popular adventure/fantasy video games on just about all platforms it has been released on. As a teaser to the impending launch of the season finale, Telltale Games has also released a video where some of the cast members of the TV show can be seen talking about the video game based off of their show. Ms. Emilia Clarke, Ms. Natalie Dormer and Mr. Iwan Rheon, seen in the embedded video below, also appear in the video game as their respective TV characters Daenerys Targaryen, Margaery Tyrell and Ramsay Snow.
