Along with the launch of the two new flagship Moto X variants, a new device had surfaced time and again over the internet as rumors. Various reports point to the release of an even more powerful device going by the moniker Droid Kinzie, also associated with the model number XT1585.
The rumors are finally put to rest as the device finally steals the spotlight, showing up in the Global Certification Forum, also known as GCF. The device seems to have been certified by the GCF, which indicates an imminent launch for the Verizon’s Motorola Droid Turbo 2, the successor of the famous Droid Turbo. Looking at the specification chart, it turns out to be the same phone as Kinzie/XT1585, further confirming the rumors.
The original specification chart of the Droid Turbo 2 was revealed by Phandroid a month early, and it seems to be a perfect match for Droid Kinzie. The Motorola Droid Turbo 2 reportedly comes with a Snapdragon 810 SoC, which has been quite famous for its overheating traits, coupled with 3 GB of RAM and 32 or 64 GB of internal storage. The display is a 5.43-inch QHD display, which is pretty crisp and sharp. The device also sports a 21 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front-facing camera. The 3760 mAh battery should be able to last the user a decent amount of usage time. Last year’s DROID Turbo was launched with a plethora of variations and color schemes.
Moto Maker will also be available for DROID Turbo 2 as well, allowing the users to customize their phone as per their wish. This is the first time that a droid lineup also has support in the Moto Maker. It could mean that Motorola is moving to the new business, Moto Maker for exclusive rights to sell the device. Customers who buys the Droid Turbo 2 from Moto Maker instead of Verizon would be offered a free redesign to the phone by means of a design swap cover within the first two years of getting the device on your hands. The launch was primarily suspected to be on 29th October. No announcement has been made about the pricing of the device yet.
