Glu Launches Sniper X With Jason Statham For FPS Fans

First-person shooter games have long been popular on mobile, but one type of the FPS genre which you’ll find quite often on Android are sniper titles. Games like Hitman Sniper coming from big-name AAA publishers Square Enix set the stage for more of a console like feel, while other mobile developers like Glu tend to dominate simply because they have the most types of these games. Earlier today Glu launched their latest sniper-focused game called Sniper X with Jason Statham, which you may have guessed comes narrated by the actor made famous for his hard-hitting action flicks. The backstory and plot follow along the lines of a what you might typically find in FPS action games, as you’ll be taking on notorious individuals from a dangerous terrorist group.

You take on the role of the Sniper X, an elite sniper with skills unlike any other, while it seems Jason Statham merely sits on the sidelines as your guide and trainer to assist you in taking down your enemies. You’re part of group called SPEAR with Statham at the helm as the commander, and  throughout the game you’ll be able to play a wide collection of missions, using various different sniper rifles you can unlock which you can also upgrade to make the guns more powerful.

While sniper rifles will be your bread and butter for the majority of the game, you’ll be able to utilize shotguns and other types of weaponry as the situation changes as some enemy types will require a more in-your face approach. If you aren’t quick enough on the trigger each rifle has the ability to employ a slow-down effect which the game calls “focus” which allows the player to manipulate time to a slower pace to make it easier to hit the target.Aside from the regular campaign missions, you can also enter the training grounds to improve your sniper abilities, and special monthly events can you earn you extra rewards like additional guns and artillery. The game is free on the Play Store as are the majority of Glu’s titles, so if you fancy a sniper game or two, check out Sniper X and see how it stacks up to your favorites.
