Huawei P9 Stripe Leaks, Two Rear-Facing Cameras In Tow?

Huawei has been an extremely busy company this year. This China-based smartphone OEM has released a number of devices, including three phones in their flagship P8 line, the high-end Honor 7 and Mate S handsets, the Android Wear-based Huawei Watch… and so on. The latest addition to Huawei’s arsenal is the Google Nexus 6P phablet which was announced a couple of days ago. That being said, it was just a matter of time before we start seeing first Huawei P9 leaks, and one of the first ones just surfaced.

A well-known leaker, Steve Hemmerstoffer, also known as @OnLeaks, has shared a new image containing the alleged Huawei P9 stripes. These two stripes suggest that the Huawei P9 will sport two rear-facing cameras, along with two sensors on the side. One of those two sensors is almost certainly the dual-LED, dual tone flash, and it’s possible that the other one is Laser Detect autofocus or something of the sort. This is not the first Huawei P9 leak, but it’s certainly one of the first ones. We’ve such a leak back in May when the phone’s alleged specifications surfaced online, and according to that info, the device will be powered by the company’s Kirin 950 processor made using a 16nm manufacturing process. The leak has also suggested that a 5.2-inch display is in tow, and a 16-megapixel OIS camera was also mentioned. Well, if this new info is accurate, we’ll see two cameras on the back, and it will be interesting to see if Huawei will be able to pack in two 16-megapixel OIS sensors there. That might not be an easy thing to do at all, but we’ll see.

This new info doesn’t exactly share any details about the phone or the cameras, everything we have to go on is the image you can see above this article. One thing is for sure though, Huawei P9 will be a high-end device, and if previous years are any indication, we’ll see more than one P9 device launched by the company. You can expect Huawei to showcase the P9 Max as well, and the P9 Mini is also a possibility. The devices will probably sport metal in their design as well, and as far as the rest of the specs are concerned, we’ll just have to wait and see. You can expect the company to announce the P9 (line) in Q1 or Q2 2016. If any additional info surfaces, we’ll let you know, stay tuned.
