Huawei Unveils Honor 7 And Honor Band Z1 In India

Honor 7 is one of Huawei’s higher-end offerings this year. This handset was originally announced and released in China back in June, and the company released it in Europe back in August. The Honor 7 is made out of metal, and it offers quite an impressive spec sheet having the price in mind. It was just a matter of time before Huawei announced this handset in India as well. Huawei has actually announced a couple of days ago that the Honor 7 will land in India on October 7th, and that’s exactly what happened today.

This China-based smartphone OEM has released not only Huawei Honor 7 in India today, but their Honor Band Z1 smartband as well. This accessory was originally announced August, in case you were wondering. Anyhow, the Honor 7 will be available in Mystery Gray and Fantasy Silver color options in India, and is priced at Rs. 22,999. The device will be available for purchase via Flipkart starting October 15th. The Honor Band Z1, on the other hand will cost Rs. 5,499 in the country, but we still don’t know when will it be available for purchase, though it will presumably roll out at the same time Honor 7 does.

The Huawei Honor 7 sports a 5.2-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) In-Cell display along with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card). This handset is powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 935 64-bit octa-core SoC along with a Mali-T628 MP4 GPU for graphics. The 20-megapixel shooter is available on the back of this phone (Sony’s IMX230 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, 6P lens) along with a dual-LED, dual tone flash. The 8-megapixel snapper can be found on the front side of this device, and a 3,100mAh battery is also a part of this package. The device does offer 4G LTE connectivity, and it ships with Android 5.0 Lollipop pre-installed with Huawei’s Emotion UI 3.1 (EMUI) available on top of Google’s operating system.

The Honor Band Z1 has a battery which will last three days according to Huawei, even though Huawei didn’t reveal its battery capacity. If its specs are the same as in the original, then it packs in a 70mAh battery, 1.06-inch 128 x 128 OLED display and is compatible with Android 4.4+’ and iOS 7+ devices. The Honor Band Z1 is also water and dust resistant thanks to the IP68 certification. This smartband will be a direct competitor to Xiaomi’s Mi Band and Yu’s Yufit in India.
