We’re seeing more and more Android Wear-powered smartwatches out in the market, and LG is probably the company which released most such products. After announcing a number of ‘G Watch’ Android Wear-powered smartwatches to date, the company has announced their new addition to the smartwatch world, the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition. The company has announced this watch last night, and has showcased the device during today’s press conference in New York. We’ve already covered the initial announcement of the device, in case you’d like to check that out, and we’re here to take a closer look at the specifications of LG’s newest smartwatch, read on.
The LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition is made out of metal, and it features a 1.38-inch P-OLED display 480 x 480 in resolution. The watch’s display has 348 ppi, and is circular, just like on the LG Watch Urbane. The smartwatch is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 quad-core SoC running at 1.2GHz along with an Adreno 405 GPU for graphics. The Watch Urbane 2nd Edition also packs in 768MB of LPDDR3 RAM and 4GB of internal storage. The 570mAh battery is also available inside of this watch, and the device is equipped with Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi and 4G LTE connectivity. Speaking of which, this is the first cellular Android Wear smartwatch manufactured by LG, in case you didn’t know. The Watch Urbane 2nd Edition measures 44.5 x 14.2mm.
The smartwatch comes equipped with a Power Saving Mode which will boost the 570mAh battery on the inside even more, and LG has included 16 pre-installed watch faces here. LG Health app is also available here, and there are three physical button available on the right side of the Watch Urbane 2nd Edition, which provide quick access to shortcut settings like contacts, LG Health and applications list.
There are a number of sensors included in this package as well: Accelerometer, Gyro, Barometer, Compass, PPG and GPS. The Watch Urbane 2 features IP67 certification, which means that it is water and dust resistant. LG will offer this watch in Space Black, Opal Blue, Luxe White and Signature Brown color options. The watch will first roll out in the US and Korea, while Europe, CIS, Asia and the Middle East will follow soon after.
