Meizu is one of the promising Chinese smartphone OEMs, this company has managed to increase their profits quite a lot in the last year or so. They’ve introduced a number of compelling devices in that time period, with Meizu PRO 5 being the last one to arrive. This smartphone was announced quite recently, and is the most powerful device Meizu has ever introduced. That being said, the company plans to introduce yet another phone on October 21st, and according to a number of reports, that’s going to be a new member of Meizu’s ‘Blue Charm’ family, or as they’re called internationally, ‘M’ series of devices. Meizu has introduced M1, M2, M1 Note and M2 Note devices as part of this line to date.
The company has already sent out October 21st invites, and it seems like they plan to release the first ‘M’ device made out of metal. The invitation actually contained a metal back cover of the upcoming device. Well, it seems like Meizu sent out those back covers in various color options, five to be exact. As you can see in the images down below, the upcoming Meizu M device will be available in Pink, Blue, Gray, White and Gold color options. This back cover actually looks almost identical to the one you’ll find on the M2 Note, which suggests this might be a new M2 Note variant rather than the M3 Note that we’re expecting to see. Who knows though, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
That’s not the only piece of news we have to share with you as far as this phone goes. Meizu’s CEO, Huang Zhang, has decided to tease the pricing of this device. According to him, the phone won’t cost below 1,000 Yuan ($158), which suggests we might also see a spec bump here, not only a metal build. As a reminder, the M2 Note featured a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 2GB of RAM and was powered by MediaTek’s MT6753 64-bit octa-core processor. The 13-megapixel shooter was also a part of this package, and the device has packed in a non-removable 3,100mAh battery on the inside. The new device will launch in a week from now, so stay tuned.
