The Microsoft Garage is a team full of developers that have been creating some rather interesting apps for both Android and iOS. Today, they launched their newest creation which is Parchi. This is a note taking app, that allows you to take simple notes, create lists, reminders, all the stuff that note-taking apps typically do. However, what stands out with Parchi is the hashtags. Meaning you can use hashtags to tag different notes and such in Parchi to make it easier to search for them later. It’s a great way to bring social media into note taking. As everyone knows what hashtags are and how they are used. So it makes searching in an app such as Parchi even better.
Parchi is available now on the Google Play Store, it’s completely free without any in-app purchases. While it is available on the Google Play Store, it seems to be limited to India only right now, and not available in the US for some strange reason. No word on when or if it will be available outside of India though. It also uses a rather flat and material design look to it. Complete with the bleeding notification bar, which looks really great. But there is also a touch of metro UI which is used in Windows 10.
This is just a start for the Microsoft Garage team with Parchi, but so far it’s nowhere near as full-featured as Microsoft OneNote or even Google Keep. And who could forget about Evernote. However it does have some cool features, and it will definitely be interesting to see how the team at Microsoft incorporates those ideas into future versions of OneNote, which is already a really great app for taking notes, to be honest. Whether it’s on OS X, Windows 10, Android or even iOS, the experience is really good.
If you’re not in India and are wanting to take the app for a spin, it is available for download. We have the APK listed down below for you to side load. It’s pretty simple and easy to use.
