Motorola Reference DROID MAXX 2 In Play Store Screenshots

Yesterday, Motorola and Verizon finally announced their DROID event for this year. As a result, it is now known that the event will take place on October 27th in New York. As to be expected a new DROID device will be unveiled. In fact, it seems extremely likely that more than one DROID device will be announced as the company very cutely stated as much with a “Please join Verizon and Motorola as we unveil the newest DROIDs” comment on the invite. For those wondering, the rumors had been circulating for some time that the two devices would be the DROID Turbo 2 and the DROID MAXX 2.

Well, in an interesting turn of events, Motorola, coincidentally, have released a new Moto app to the Play Store. The app is the Moto Email app and by adding it to Play Store is likely to prove useful for those running a Motorola device, as they will be able to pull updates much quicker when they are available specifically for this app.

Although, that is only part of the news today, as along with making the app publicly available, Motorola has included a set of obligatory screenshots for users to check out how the app looks and works. What makes these particular screenshots so interesting is that some of them clearly refers to the DROID MAXX 2. The screenshots are of a typical generic email being put together and the shots include a signature on the bottom of the email. One which reads “Sent from my DROID MAXX 2“. So if there was any doubt that the DROID MAXX 2 is going to be one of the devices which is announced at the event towards the end of this month, you can take this as somewhat of a confirmation that it will be. Although, it is worth keeping in mind this is not the first time the device has been referenced, as it was also recently spotted on the Chromecast support site.

Of course, the app also comes with a number of fixes and improvements and if you are interested in them you can check out the full changelog and grab the update by heading through the link below.
