Asus is one of the most prominent Asian tech companies. They dabble in pretty much anything tech-related, and have announced a number of Android-powered smartphones this year as part of their ZenFone line. The company has introduced a number of ZenFone 2 devices, including regular ZenFone 2 models, and some additional ones like ZenFone 2 Laser, ZenFone 2 Zoom, ZenFone 2 Deluxe, etc. That being said, the company has just announced a really interesting gadget called Chromebit CS10, let’s see what’s what.
So, what is a Chromebit CS10? Well, it’s basically a Chrome OS computer with which you can turn your smart TV or a computer into a Chrome OS machine, as long as they offer an HDMI port. Now, keep in mind that this is the smaller Chrome device to date, and very few people would think that a computer hides inside of this thing. Once plugged in, the Chromebit CS10 will be able to deliver fullHD resolution and the latest version of Chrome OS. The device packs in 2GB of LPDDR3L RAM, 16GB of eMMC storage, and a dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi. There are also both USB and HDMI ports available here, and Bluetooth 4.0 is also a part of this package. This device is powered by a Rockchip RK3288-C processor, and it has an integrated Mali T764 GPU for graphics.
On top of all this, this device also ships with 100GB of free Google Drive cloud space, which you’ll be able to take advantage of as soon as you log in with your Google account. The Chromebit CS10 comes in Cacao Black and Tangerine Orange color options. The device measures 123 x 31 x 17mm, while it weighs 75 grams. Now, if you’re interested in purchasing one of these devices, you can do so today, the Chromebit CS10 is available for $85 as we speak. That is more or less it, Asus managed to surprise us by releasing this device, and even though it offers a rather modest spec sheet, keep in mind that it only costs $85, and that it can turn your smart TV into a Chrome OS computer, which will certainly come in handy to some of us.
