Email is still a major part of our lives, and it will continue to be for some time, so it’s no surprise to see email apps continue to get better. It’s not just Google that offer up some of the best email apps either, and there’s a good amount of independent options out there that work well without issue. So, let’s take a look at 10 of the Best.
Boxer
Boxer hit the headlines earlier this year because it was launching as a bundled app with Cyanogen OS smartphones. More than that however, it’s a slick and smooth email app that hopes to bring everything together in one place without the need for clutter or anything like that. Easy to use, reliable and full of features, Boxer supports Gmail, Exchange, Outlook, Yahoo, Hotmail, iCloud, Office 365, IMAP & POP3 mail accounts as well.
Outlook
Outlook is an app that many will be familiar with at work. This mobile option doesn’t just work with a Microsoft Account however, it will work with whatever email app you have, and just like the Desktop program on Windows, it also manages your calendar within the same app as well.
Yahoo Mail
Yahoo Mail has come a long way over the past couple of years, and it’s become a better service for a lot of people, and it’s one that works well on mobile. For ease of use when looking for files or attachments as well as a look and feel that offers ease of use and fits in well with Android itself.
K-9 Mail
K-9 Mail has been around for a few years now, and while it’s not all that easy to use, it’s a great option for power users that really need to organize their email and make sure everything is in its right place so that they don’t miss a beat. A good option, this isn’t the prettiest out there, but it has a proven track record of being pretty good.
Inbox by Gmail
For an app that unifies all of your accounts, be them Gmail or otherwise, and brings everything into one sort of timeline, with smart folders, Inbox is a great app. It sadly doesn’t work very well on tablets, which is a head-scratcher, but it’s great for mobile users that have a perhaps more casual view of their Inbox and just want to bring order to chaos.
Nine
Nine is an Android app that offers up a good amount of customization and organization without getting too cluttered. With great Material Design look and feel Nine is a great app for those that want to make better use of their email accounts on mobile.
MailDroid
MailDroid is an app that we’ve reviewed here previously, and it’s absolutely a must for power users. With custom rules and all sorts of other tricks, this is an app that can do it all to a great standard. The free version does a lot, but the paid version is pretty expensive.
Gmail
Gmail has given birth to all sorts of things over the years, like the Priority Inbox and Threaded Conversations, something I can’t live without. The Android app got a big upgrade last year, and it’s now easier than ever to use, while also being one of the best Android apps available on Android tablets. You can also use this with email providers other than Google, too.
CloudMagic Email
CloudMagic is an app that’s been racking up awards recently, and for good reason. A slick, modern approach to a serious email application, the Android version looks great with a Material Design theme as well as Android Wear support. For an app that has Calendar support as well as an easy way to switch between several accounts, this is one of the better apps to manage it all.
Email Type Mail
Type Mail is all about being quick and easy to use. Navigating between accounts is nice and fast, and all of the necessary icons when viewing an email are all in plain view, easy to tap whenever you want. It might not be the most sophisticated client out there, but it’s one of the quickest and easiest to use, which is great.
