First Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Teardown Surfaces In China

Xiaomi has held their ‘Grand Finale’ event in China a couple of days ago, and during the event, the company has announced two new devices. Xiaomi has released an all-metal Redmi Note 3 smartphone and Mi Pad 2 tablet. The Redmi Note 3 is a mid-range smartphone which sports a fingerprint scanner on the back, and is the first such smartphone released by Xiaomi. The Mi Pad 2 is a direct successor to the original Mi Pad, and this time around it offers improved specs, and a new, more premium design / build.

That being said, first Redmi Note 3 teardown has surfaced in China, courtesy of IT168. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll get to see quite a few teardown images. The source basically noted that the Redmi Note 3 wasn’t as easy to pull apart as some of the company’s plastic offerings were, but it seems like they didn’t have all that much trouble dismantling this device either. All the components Xiaomi has listed are present and accounted for, speaking of which, let’s check out this phone’s specs, shall we.

The Redmi Note 3 actually sports rather similar specs to its predecessor, the Redmi Note 2, which was announced back in August. Anyhow, the Redmi Note 3 features a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display with 2 or 3GB of RAM on the inside. The device also ships with either 32 or 64GB of internal storage (depending on which RAM variant you get), and a 4,000mAh battery is also available here. MediaTek’s Helio X10 64-bit octa-core SoC fuels this smartphone along with a PowerVR G6200 GPU for graphics. The 13-megapixel shooter is available on the back of this phone, and a 5-megapixel snapper can be found up front. Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed with Xiaomi’s MIUI 7 OS available on top of it.

The Redmi Note 2 will ship with two SIM card slots on the inside, and is available in Gold, Silver and Dark Grey color options. The lower-end variant of this phone costs 899 Yuan ($141) in China, while the higher-end model comes around at 1,099 Yuan ($172). That’s pretty much it, we’ll let you know if any additional Redmi Note 3 info pops up.
