We already know that Huawei intends to announce their Mate 8 phablet on November 26th. The company has released an official teaser which was quite revealing recently, and the company’s CEO has also confirmed that the phablet is on its way. The device has leaked several times thus far, and it also popped up on GFXBench recently two images of the phone’s back surfaced earlier today, and interesting enough, a new Mate 8 leak popped up moments ago. This time around we get a video chip which gives us a great look at both the front and back side of this phablet, read on.
If you take a look at the embedded video down below, you’ll get to see the alleged render of Huawei’s upcoming flagship phablet. We’ve already seen the back cover of this device, and now we get to see its front side as well. The Mate 8 will be made out of metal, and it will sport a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. As far as the front side goes, it will be rather clean in terms of the design. Huawei did include the company’s logo below the display it seems, but the device sports rather thin bezels. The display will be slightly curved on the sides (2.5D glass probably), and it will be interesting to see if there will be any black bars present here.
As far as the phone’s specs go, you can expect it to sport a 6-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, at least according to GFXBench. The benchmark listing also reported that the device will be powered by the all-new Kirin 950 64-bit octa-core SoC, as expected, along with a Mali-T880 GPU for graphics. The 16 or 21-megapixel camera will be available on the back of the Mate 8, and an 8-megapixel snapper will be located up front. Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come pre-installed here according to GFXBench, which means Huawei might also announce a new version of their Emotion UI (EMUI) skin along with this phablet. That is pretty much it, the launch event is only 9 days away at this point, but if any additional info leaks before then, we’ll make sure to let you know, stay tuned.
