Huawei Mate 8 Pops Up On GFXBench, 4GB Of RAM In Tow

Ever since Huawei announced the Mate S smartphone during IFA in Berlin back in September, we’ve been wondering if they intend to announce Mate 8 at all. We’ve been seeing Mate 8 rumors for months now, so it was certainly probable Mate 8 is coming. Huawei’s CEO, Yu Chengdong, has confirmed quite recently that the device is coming, and not long after that the company has released an official Mate 8 teaser confirming its launch date. The phablet will be announced on November 26th, and we have some new info to share with you, read on.

The Huawei Mate 8 has actually popped up on GFXBench under the model number NXT-AL10. According to the benchmark listing, the Mate 8 will feature a 6-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 950 64-bit octa-core SoC running at 2.2GHz will fuel this phablet along with a Mali-T880 GPU for graphics. The 16-megapixel shooter will be available on the back of this phablet, and an 8-megapixel camera will be located up front. Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come pre-installed on this phablet according to GFXBench, and you can also expect to see Huawei’s EMUI (Emotion UI) Android skin installed on top of Google’s OS.

As already mentioned, we’ve seen a ton of Mate 8 leaks thus far, and it’s safe to say that this device will be made out of metal, most probably aluminum. Huawei has released a number of such devices this year, and the Mate 8 will definitely be the top of the line offering from this China-based company. The fingerprint scanner will probably also be available here, and it will almost certainly going to be located below the rear-facing camera sensors. All in all, Mate 8 is expected to be an extremely well-specced, and sleek looking device. Huawei did announce quite a few high-end offerings this year, but their Mate7 phablet which was announced last year is still regarded as one of the better-looking devices out there, so Mate 8 has big shoes to feel. Either way, stay tuned, we’ll let you know if any additional info appears before Huawei announces this phablet
