Earlier on Friday, AT&T’s prepaid brand Cricket Wireless announced that starting with immediate effect, it is offering a discount on three entry-level smartphones to new as well as existing subscribers. The discounted prices will be applicable till the 7th of January next year, and are available online on Cricket’s official website, as well as in retail stores across the nation, according to the press release from the carrier. The company has also let it be known that customers switching to Cricket from any rival carrier will be eligible to club the previously announced $100 Cricket Shopping Card offer with this new promo. The existing $100 promo however, will only last till the 6th of this month, so you will have just the three days from now to make use of that, in case you are interested.
Coming to the three devices that are being offered at reduced prices, the Sonata 2 from Chinese multinational tech company ZTE, happens to be the most affordable one of the lot, costing only $9.99 after the $20 instant discount. Originally, the device was priced at $39.99. Next on the list is the Galaxy Grand Prime from South Korean manufacturer Samsung. While the handset normally costs $79.99, Cricket is cutting its price by $70, meaning, it will be available for purchase for just $29.99 up until the 7th of next month. Last, but by no means least, comes the G Stylo from yet another South Korean OEM, LG Electronics. This particular phone will now be available at a $100 discount on its regular pricing, which takes the G Stylo’s price down from an already pocket-friendly $149.99 to a meagre $49.99.
Announcing the offers, the Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Cricket Wireless, Ms. Janna Ducich, couldn’t help but take a dig at some of Cricket’s foremost rivals. According to her, “This holiday season, we offer shoppers great reasons to be part of the Cricket experience, one of the best values in no-annual contract wireless and a network that gives our customers more 4G LTE coverage nationwide than T-Mobile, Metro PCS, Sprint and Boost. Cricket is offering smartphones people love at prices that keep money in their pocket”.
