Elephone has managed to attract quite a bit of attention to themselves in the last couple of months, mainly due to releasing solid devices, and also teasing some interesting ones as well. The company has released several ELE Watch smartwatch teasers, and we’ve seen quite a bit of Ulefone P9000 leaks as well. This China-based company has released their new flagship, the Elephone Vowney recently, but it seems like the highest-end P9000 device might be even more interesting, read on.
Our source at the company has already confirmed that the P9000 (highest-end out of all P9000 devices) will sport no bezel on the sides, and you can also expect some really high-end specs as well. That being said, the other two P9000 devices were supposed to be called the P9000C and P9000 Lite. Well, the company has decided to change the names of all those phones before the launch event, the P9000 will be called P9000 Edge, the P9000 Lite will be simply called the P9000, and the P9000C will ship as the P9000 Lite. This sounds somewhat confusing, but according to this naming scheme, the P9000 Edge will be the highest-end out of the bunch.
Speaking of P9000 devices, Elephone has also announced that they’ll be holding an event on December 25th. In the official event image, Elephone is using the ‘Innovator Always Thinking Smarter’ caption, and the company basically confirms that the P9000 devices will be launched. Android 6.0, Helio P10 SoC, narrow bezel and a fingerprint scanner are also being teased in this image, as you can see.
The Elephone P9000 Edge is said to sport a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage. This handset will probably be powered by the Helio P10 SoC, just like the other two P9000 devices, though it is possible that Elephone might include a more powerful processor on the inside. This smartphone will also sport a 21-megapixel shooter on the back, and a Type-C USB port on the bottom side of the device. Interesting enough, rumors are saying that the P9000 Edge might also ship with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow will ship out of the box with some software additions included by Elephone.
