China Mobile is one of China’s biggest carriers, and it seems like this carrier has spilled the beans on the release of two major flagships during the latest press conference. The carrier has revealed that the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Huawei P9 will arrive in March, which was to be expected. Now, this probably represents the release date of the devices, not actual announcements, so keep that in mind. It is highly likely that the Galaxy S7 will arrive in late February during MWC, and that it will launch in March, but we’ll see.
That being said, we do have some additional Huawei P9 news to share with you as well. Now, quite a while ago, a leak surfaced revealing that the Huawei P9 might sport two cameras on the back, and a new spec leak actually confirms that. According to the newly leaked info, the Huawei P9 will feature a 5.2-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) AMOLED display along with 4GB of RAM. Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 950 is said to fuel this smartphone, the same SoC you’ll find in Huawei’s current flagship, the Mate 8 phablet. This is also the most powerful SoC currently available in the market, at least until some other processors don’t become available. This smartphone is almost certainly going to be made out of metal, and you can expect it to sport a fingerprint scanner as well.
As it’s usually the case with Huawei’s ‘P’ line of devices, the company will probably release the P9 Mini and Max along with the Huawei P9. We still didn’t hear much about either of these phones, but the P9 Max might sport somewhat bigger display than the P9, a 5.7-6.2” panel, we’re still not sure. The specifications, other than the display and battery, will quite probably be similar, if not identical. The P9 Mini will sport a somewhat lower-end specs, but it will still be in the mid to high-end category, if previous years are any indication. That is pretty much it, the P9 line will be a force to be reckoned with if these rumors are any indications, but we’ll have to wait and see what comes out of this, stay tuned.
