Higher-End Huawei Honor 5X Gets Certified, 3GB Of RAM In Tow

Huawei has announced a number of really compelling and interesting devices this year, including their Mate 8 flagship and the Android Wear-powered smartwatch, the Huawei Watch. This China-based company has also managed to climb up the ladder as far as market share goes, Huawei is now the third-largest smartphone manufacturer in the world, which is a huge feat for the company, that’s for sure. Now, they did announce a number of devices this year, but it seems like another one is right around the corner, though it probably won’t be announced before the end of this year, read on.

The Huawei KIW-AL20 has been certified by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC), and it seems like this is the higher-end variant of the company’s Honor 5X handset. According to TENAA’s listing, this handset will sport a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 616 64-bit octa-core SoC running at 1.5GHz will fuel this smartphone and the phone will be made out of metal. The 13-megapixel snapper will be located on the phone’s back, while a 5-megapixel shooter will be available up front. Android 5.1 Lollipop will ship out of the box with Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) on top of it.

As you can see in the available images, this device will be identical to its sibling, but it will sport a somewhat higher-end set of specs. This is still a mid-range device though, but it sure has a lot to offer, and we do expect it to be quite affordable as well. The fingerprint scanner is placed below the rear-facing camera sensor, and both its power / lock and volume rocker buttons are placed on the phone’s right-hand side. The device will be available in Gold, Grey and Silver color options, at least according to TENAA’s listing, keep in mind that additional color options are a possibility though. This smartphone will launch in China first, and will then roll out to additional markets. We’ll let you know as soon as we get more details, but you can expect this phone to launch in the coming weeks, stay tuned.
