Samsung Galaxy A9 Gets Compared To The Galaxy A7 On Video

As it the case with many Samsung phones, we heard some rumors about the Galaxy A9, then we got some benchmark results and we have now seen some promotional material, so we just need to wait for the official announcement to know some additional specs of the phone as well as details about pricing and availability. Samsung recently launched new versions of their mid-range series Galaxy A featuring an updated design based on the Galaxy S6 series with glass in front and back and a metallic frame holding these two pieces together. The new Galaxy A9 resembles the new design, but just like the naming scheme suggests, it features a larger screen than the other 3 phones that integrate the new Galaxy A lineup.

Now, we can see how the Galaxy A9 looks compared to the new Galaxy A7 as a video featuring both phones was spotted. Unsurprisingly, the Galaxy A9 seems to be quite large as it sports a 6-inch display, but the narrow bezels on the sides on the screen, which can be appreciated when the screen is on, might make its dimensions a tad smaller than other phones with such large screens. The Galaxy A9 looks as thin as the Galaxy A7 and the overall design with 2.5D glass and some curvature in the metallic frame looks very similar to the phones of the Galaxy A series. The interface of the Galaxy A9 looks quite similar too, but the iconography looks a little different, as these icons don’t feature the “squircle” shape that we’ve seen in some recent handsets of the company, but that might be because of some third-party theme or carrier customization.

Some of the known specs of the Galaxy A9 include a 6-inch Full HD AMOLED display, and it will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 620 processor and 3 GB of RAM. There are 32 GB of internal storage which can be expanded with micro SD cards. There’s a 13-megapixel camera on the back and an 8-megapixel one on the front. Quick Charge 3.0 will be supported to charge the 4,000 mAh battery. A fingerprint scanner will be integrated into the Home button, so this phone has support for Samsung Pay.
