Samsung has released three ‘Galaxy A’ devices recently, the 2nd-gen Galaxy A3, A5 and A7. These three phones are made out of metal, and they definitely resemble the Galaxy S6 flagship which was announced back in March, which is actually a good thing. Now, in addition to these three devices, Samsung has also released another variant of their Galaxy A8 handset, though the device has been announced in Japan and we don’t know if it will reach any additional markets.
That being said, another one of Samsung’s ‘Galaxy A’ devices has been surfacing lately, the Galaxy A9. This handset has not only popped up on AnTuTu benchmark, but its listing has also surfaced on Samsung’s official website recently. This handset is expected to be announced really soon, and until that happens, we have yet another leak to share with you. Official Galaxy A9 press content has surfaced, not only confirming the design of the device, but its specifications as well. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll get to see the leaked images for yourself. The Galaxy A9 will resemble its siblings quite a bit, and as far as specs go, we’re looking at a 6-inch phablet here. The device will feature a 6-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) Super AMOLED display along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage (expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card). The device will be powered by the Snapdragon 620 64-bit octa-core SoC clocked at 1.8GHz along with an Adreno 510 GPU for graphics. The 13-megapixel shooter will be located on the back of this phablet, and an 8-megapixel camera will be available on its front side. The 4,000mAh battery will also be a part of this package, and the device will offer quick charging function as well (quite probably Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0). You can expect to see glass panels both on the front and back of this smartphone, and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will come pre-installed here with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top of it.
The Galaxy A9 will almost certainly going to be announced before the end of the year, though we don’t know if it will be available for sale before 2016. The phone will be available in Black, White and Gold color options, while additional variants are also possible.
