Smartisan is a China-based smartphone manufacturer most of you probably never heard of. That’s not exactly a surprise considering the fact that this OEM doesn’t really release all that many smartphones. The company has released their T1 flagship back in Q3 2014, and we’ve seen quite a few Smartisan T2 rumors since then, but we still don’t know when will the phone going to be announced. The Smartisan T2 has popped up on AnTuTu back in September this year, and the phone has stopped by AnTuTu once again. This time around the listing confirms this is the Smartisan T2, while the previous listing only listed ‘smartisan new model exposure’.
Either way, this is the same handset that was listed back in September, and it seems like its launch is really close at this point. According to the listing, this smartphone will sport a 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808 64-bit hexa-core processor will fuel this phone along with an Adreno 418 GPU for graphics. The 13-megapixel shooter will be located on the back of the T2, and a 5-megapixel snapper will be available up front. Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will come pre-installed on the Smartisan T2, and the company’s very own software additions will also come installed on this device.
The Smartisan T2 actually managed to hit 65,000 in the latest benchmark results, and it seems like it will be a rather solid offering by the company, as long as they managed to price it right. Its predecessor wasn’t exactly affordable, it was priced at $570 at launch, so we’re hoping the company will have a different approach this time around. It is also worth mentioning that the company has launched the affordable Smartisan U1 earlier this year, a very solid device overall. That phone sports a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 2GB of RAM and is fueled by the Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core SoC. As far as Smartisan T2 is concerned, all we can do at this point is wait for more details, the company is expected to unveil this phone in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
