Sponsored App Review: Battery Time Optimizer

Battery Time Optimizer is an Android app that aims to improve the overall length that your Android smartphone or tablet will last between charges. It’s a quick and simple app that does this by turning off unnecessary things like WiFi and/or Bluetooth and changing things like screen-off time and auto-sync periods. Battery Time Optimizer shows you how big a difference you can make to your battery time as you change settings and it’s really simple to fine tune your connections and settings to keep your battery going for as long as you can.

Extending your battery time is simple, and users need only download Battery Time Optimizer from the Play Store to get started. When you launch the app, you’ll be presented with an estimate of how much longer your battery has left.

One thing that I noticed right away was that message at the bottom of the display. I was not given the chance to opt-out of this and indeed, there’s no mention of it in the settings menu, either.

The data sent to Liquidum is anonymous, so there’s probably little to worry about, but I would like to be able tor turn this off.

Should you wish to use the app to extend your battery life, you can just go ahead and tap the circle and watch as it goes through a number of processes, such as closing all your running apps:

Each one of these processes is said to add a certain amount of time to your overall battery life, and Battery Time Optimizer is only too keen to tell you just how much:

During the process, Battery Time Optimizer will pause and ask you if you want to turn things like Bluetooth and WiFi off. I was a little disappointed not to see a warning here that my Android Wear watch or fitness tracker would stop working if I did this, but the majority of users should realize this on their own.

After doing all of this, I was told that my battery life had gone up from a good 20 hours or so to a massive 30 hours plus.

I did think that this was a little strange, so I took a look at my battery settings and Android told me that I was only going to get another nine hours or so, but this could be because it’s early in the morning.

Regardless, it is nice to see that there is an app like this out there. This makes extending your battery life nice and simple, and with the buttons below you can simply extend how long between auto-sync periods as well as change the screen-off settings with just a few button taps.

Battery Time Optimizer is a nice and simple little Android app, it doesn’t take long to get set up at all, and I’m sure it does at least some good. The one thing I found a little strange was that, at least on my OnePlus Two, the battery estimate seemed to be a little optimistic, even before I used the app to improve things. Either way, this is the right sort of battery app that users need. Rather than pulling wool over people’s eyes, what this does is reduces how much of the phone’s resources are in use, which in turn lessens the impact on the battery, delivery a longer time between charges. I would have liked a warning when turning off Bluetooth that my watch would stop working, but a lot of users will know this already. For a quick and simple boost in battery life, this seems to get the job done, I just wouldn’t put much faith in the estimated time, is all.

Overall, there’s a lot to like about this simple app from Liquidum. It does what it sets out to do, and it’s so easy that any type of user should be able to get onboard with this sort of thing. While there’s a little wonkiness with the estimated time on my device, this will definitely give you an extra or two at least with some phones.
