YU's CEO Teases The Arrival Of Yuphoria, Company's Flagship

YU is definitely one of the more interesting Asia-based companies. This India-based smartphone manufacturer is actually owned by Micromax, and they have released a handful of really interesting devices since they were founded (December 2014). The company has unveiled four devices thus far, and the fifth one will be announced soon. All of the phones YU unveiled thus far are either entry-level or mid-range offerings, and the company’s flagship is about to be launched in just two days, read on.

The aforementioned handset will be called the YU Yutopia, and the company has been teasing the phone for quite some time now. The company was initially planning to unveil this smartphone on December 7th, but have decided to postpone the launch to December 17th. The reason for that? Well, it seems like they’re planning to unveil a second device at the event as well, and we still don’t know what that might be. Anyhow, the YU Yuphoria has been benchmarked already, and YU has said that the phone will have premium specs, build, fast charging and great battery life. That being said, YU has released yet another teaser, and this one is really interesting.

If you take a look at the embedded video down below, you’ll get to see the company’s CEO, Rahul Sharma, starring in a short 20-second video clip. In that video, he’s opening up Yuphoria’s box, and is quite interesting to watch him do it, as he is smiling during the procedure. On the box itself, you’ll notice the ‘The Most Powerful Phone Ever’ caption, which is also something YU has been repeating for the last couple of weeks. Now, this video is not all that revealing, but it sure is interesting, and it is a nice way to tease an upcoming device, that’s for sure.

According to benchmarks, this phone will sport a 5.2-inch QHD display and it will ship with either 3 or 4GB of RAM, depending on which version you opt to buy. The phone is expected to come with 32GB of internal storage, and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core SoC will quite probably be included in here as well. The 21-megapixel snapper is expected to be available on the back of this phone, and an 8-megapixel shooter will be placed up front. Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will quite probably going to come out of the box with Cyanogen OS 12.1 on top of it, though it is possible that Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be included with Cyanogen OS 13, you never know. We also expect the device to be made out of metal, and we’ll know more in just two days when the device launches, stay tuned.
