Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Google’s latest version of Android, has been announced and rolled out last year. A number of devices already got the update, which includes a couple of Motorola-branded handsets as well. The Moto G (3rd-gen) has received the update a while back, and the Indian version has received it a couple of weeks ago. That being said, it seems like the update has started rolling out to yet another one of Motorola’s devices in India, read on.
The ‘Turbo Edition‘ of Motorola’s Moto G has started receiving Android 6.0 Marshmallow in India. The OTA (over-the-air) update is 445.5MB in size, and it also includes Android security update for December. Now, as far as the update itself goes, you’ll get various improvements here, Marshmallow features we’ve talked about quite a few times thus far. A number of things are changed here in regards to app permissions, mobile payments, app links… and so on. It is also worth mentioning that Google’s Doze battery saving feature is also included here as part of Marshmallow, which should help improve your battery life significantly. It is also worth mentioning that Motorola rolled out the Marshmallow update to Moto X Style and Moto X Play in India as well, the former handset received the update back in November, and the latter got it earlier this month.
The Motorola Moto G Turbo Edition features a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS LCD display, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage (expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card). This handset is fueled by the Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor, along with an Adreno 405 GPU for graphics. The 13-megapixel shooter (f/2.0 aperture) can be found on the back of the device, and a 5-megapixel snapper is placed up front. Android 5.1.1 Lollipop comes out of the box here (before you update it), and a 2,470mAh non-removable battery can be found on the inside as well. The Moto G Turbo Edition does offer 4G LTE support, and it is also water and dust resistant (IP67 certified). There are two SIM card slots available on the inside, while the device measures 142.1 x 72.4 x 11.6mm, and weighs 155 grams.
