Galaxy S7 and Xiaomi Mi 5 have got to be the two most leaked devices in the last couple of months. Earlier today we’ve talked about the Mi 5 and the listing of the device which popped up on GearBest, and now we have some more Galaxy S7 info to share with you. I don’t know if you remember, but we’ve covered @evleaks’ leak yesterday, in which the tipster posted the names of Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge and Galaxy S7 edge+ one next to the other. At the time, we considered that to be the name confirmation of these three devices, but there seems to be more to it than we originally thought, read on.
SamMobile posted a rather interesting article sourcing @evleaks earlier today. Now, recent leaks have said that Samsung might launch more than one Galaxy S7 device at the end of February, just like they did last year. At the time, it seemed like the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge will be the devices to arrive, but Samsung might launch three devices at the event this time around. The image @evleaks shared actually lists all three devices, and they share the same background. So, this might actually be part of Samsung’s promo material or something like that. Considering all three devices are listed in the same picture, and they share the same background, that could indicate Samsung might announce them together, doesn’t it? Well, some of you might say we’re reaching, but it makes sense. It actually goes hand-in-hand with some of the leaks we’ve seen, not to mention these three devices will almost certainly share very similar specs and design (aside from size and the curved display on the ‘edge’ variants). The August / September event might be reserved for the Galaxy Note 5 alone, and some other new device Samsung opts to release.
The Galaxy S7 is rumored to sport a 5.1-inch QHD display along with 4GB of RAM and various internal storage options. The device will be powered by the Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8890 SoCs, depending on where you buy it, Samsung will probably release both variants. The handset(s) will be made out of metal and glass, and the physical home button will be placed below the display once again. The fingerprint scanner will, as usual, going to be built into the physical home button, and a rear-facing camera is still a mystery at this point. Some leaks are saying that Samsung might opt for a 16-megapixel sensor, other sources claim that they’re planning to use Sony’s all-new 23-megapixel sensor, and the most recent leak we’ve seen mentioned the 12.2-megapixel BRITECELL snapper. Either way, stay tuned, we’ll report back soon.
