Hands On: Samsung's New Smart Fridge with a 21-inch Touch Screen

At CES this week, Samsung announced a slew of new products. As many of you know, Samsung does more than just smartphones and tablets. But they make appliances and TV’s as well. At their press conference on Tuesday, the company announced a new smart refrigerator, which actually has a 21.5-inch touch screen built into the door. Now at first glance, this might seem a bit silly and pointless. But when you see what it can do, it’s actually pretty sweet. The touch screen allows you to create a shopping list, which can be synced to your device. You can also check your calendar and control music that’s playing on speakers in the house. You can also “sticky” pictures to the screen, like you used to do with magnets.

But perhaps the coolest feature are the built-in cameras inside the fridge. So say you’re at the grocery store and not sure if you need milk, or if you have any bacon left (because we can all use more bacon), well you can use the app on your Samsung smartphone to check the inside of the fridge and see how much is left, while you are still in the store. Talk about convenient. Not to mention, you can buy groceries right from your refrigerator, thanks to their partnership with MasterCard. We’ve gone hands on with this new fridge and you can see the pictures below.
