Hands On With Mad Catz GameSmart S.U.R.F.R & L.Y.N.X 3 Gamepads

Mad Catz is one of many US-based companies to participate this year’s CES in Las Vegas. The company has showcased a couple of their products at the trade show, including gamepads and gaming earphones. We’ve already talked about these gamepads and have shared our hands-on coverage of the E.S.Pro 1 earbuds. Well, we’re here to take a closer look at the company’s gamepads, considering we were able to get some hands-on time with these devices, read on.

Mad Catz has shown off two gamepads at CES 2016, both of which are not exactly new, they’ve been announced quite a while back. The first device in question is the GameSmart S.U.R.F.R, and aside from the analog sticks and a smartphone stand, it offer a full qwerty keyboard. You can, of course, use this gamepad to surf the web if you want considering it has the keyboard, all you need to do is connect it to your device of choice. The S.U.R.F.R is available in three color options, and it also sport a rather interesting and modern design.

The second device is the L.Y.N.X 3 gamepad, which is more of a classic gamepad, at least compared to the S.U.R.F.R. The L.Y.N.X 3 also sport a modern and interesting design, but it lacks the qwerty keyboard. This device, unlike the S.U.R.F.R, offers bigger analog sticks, and is somewhat bigger due to its design. The L.Y.N.X 3 is also more comfortable to hold considering its design is more similar to the classic gamepad, and its size definitely helps as well.

That is pretty much it as far as Mad Catz’s gamepads go, if you’d like to take a closer look at either of these two devices, check out the gallery down below where you’ll see our CES 2016 hands-on coverage of these two devices.
