Kyocera is a company who releases a number of smartphones each year and ones which are generally designed to be ultra-protected, thanks to their emphasis on being rugged, waterproof and shockproof. In terms of their smartphones, the company has already released a number of Hydro models including the Kyocera Hydro WAVE and the Kyocera Hydro VIBE. Following on in that range is the latest smartphone, the Kyocera Hydro VIEW and this one has today been confirmed to be en route to Cricket Wireless.
In terms of the specs, the Kyocera Hydro VIEW comes equipped with a 5-inch display with a 960 x 540 resolution. Moving to the inside and the Hydro VIEW sports 1GB RAM and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 (MSM8909) Quad-core processor (clocking at 1.1 GHz). In terms of cameras, the Hydro VIEW is equipped with a 5-megapixel rear camera, which is coupled with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Storage is set at 8GB as standard, although there is the option to expand thanks to the inclusion of a microSD card slot (up to 64GB). The Hydro VIEW comes equipped with a 2,160 mAh battery, offers 4G LTE support and comes running on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) out of the box. Of course, being a Kyocera device does mean that the Hydro VIEW places a focus on being a phone built to withstand the environment. As such, this is one which comes with an IP57 rating for dustproof and also waterproof (3 feet of water for 30 minutes). Making it an ideal solution for anyone looking for a device to be used in the workplace, as well as for those looking for a more robust smartphone to be used while on the go.
