As most of you know, OnePlus has introduced three smartphones thus far, and two of them were announced last year. This China-based company has unveiled their new flagship, OnePlus 2 first in 2015, and the OnePlus X followed later in the year. The OnePlus One, the company’s first flagship, was introduced back in 2014. That being said, many people were expecting the company to introduce the OnePlus 2 Mini before the end of 2015 (despite the fact OnePlus X arrived), but that didn’t happen despite a ton of leaks and rumors we’ve seen. Well, Xiaomi’s latest teaser might hint the OnePlus 2 Mini launch is coming, read on.
This new teaser appeared on OnePlus’ official Facebook page, as it did on other social media outlets. Looking at the image itself, you can see there are two smartphones on that image, and one is smaller than the other. Now, the teaser is quite cryptic, but this could be related to the OnePlus 2 Mini, even though some reports were suggesting OnePlus 2 Mini wasn’t going to happen considering the company introduced the OnePlus X, which is essentially OnePlus’ smaller handset. Keep in mind that this is only a guess on our part, we can’t confirm that OnePlus 2 Mini will launch at all, but if it is on the way, we’ll definitely see more similar teasers in the coming weeks. This teaser, as far as we know it, might even be related to OnePlus’ Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, only time will tell.
Now, thanks to an earlier listing on GFXBench, we can even talk about OnePlus 2 Mini’s alleged specifications. The listing on GFXBench reported that the device will ship with a 4.6-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The device is expected to be fueled by the Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor, and a 13-megapixel shooter is said to be available on the back of this smartphone. The 5-megapixel front-facing camera has also been mentioned, and the device won’t sport NFC according to GFXBench’s listing. Android 5.1.1 Lollipop was reported as OnePlus’ OS variant of choice, and the company will, of course, include their Oxygen OS on top of Google’s Android operating system. That is pretty much it, stay tuned for additional news.
