Samsung To Recapture Kids Market With New Kids Mode/Tablet

Smartphones and tablets, as well as other mobile devices are a big part of everyday life for most individuals these days, and this includes kids. Whether it’s letting your child be entertained by videos on YouTube Kids or any other kid-focused video application, or helping them learn and grow with any number of other available learning apps, kids are interacting with mobile devices almost as much as the parents who own those devices. Companies like Samsung have introduced a “kids mode” to their devices since the Galaxy S5 and have even updated previous devices to include the feature, and according to some new rumors, it seems like they are looking to update Kids Mode to make things easier for children to use and enhance the experience.

According to the details, this new version of Kids Mode could end up being a significant update with loads of new improvements and features as it’s said to be upgrading to version number 4.x. Of these included new features, the rumor states that a newly designed user interface may be introduced yet it will retain the easy-to-use interaction for kids ensuring it’s still as simple and fun to use as it is now. The rumor also states that in addition to the new user interface, new and improved animations when moving between menus, selecting things etc. will be visible which could increase engagement.

The new Kids Mode could also be accompanied by a new kids tablet this year that Samsung is said to be working on. Although there were no details given on specifics for the new device, it may or may not be the brand new Galaxy Tab E which were noticed in the last 24 hours, which is said to come with a 7-inch screen equipped. With Mobile World Congress 2016 coming up next month, and Samsung’s Unpacked event happening just before the event officially starts, there’s a chance that they could be planning to unveil these devices during the MWC press conference. If that’s the case, then pricing details, as well as availability and launch dates should join the announcements. If you own a newer Samsung device currently, you can grab the Kids Mode app to install from the Play Store.
