Sony Introduces Pink Colored Xperia Z5, Available Next Month

Sony has introduced quite a few smartphones in 2015, but the company’s flagship Xperia Z5 line of devices is Sony’s most notable release. This Japan-based smartphone manufacturer has introduced the Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact and Xperia Z5 Premium devices back in August. The Xperia Z5 and Z5 Premium are the company’s current flagships, and are quite similar, except the latter one sports a 4K display, unlike the regular model. The Z5 Compact, on the other hand, is more of a mid-range handset, even though it sports the same build as its siblings, and the same camera as well.

That being said, Sony has introduced these devices in a standard set of colors, and has yesterday teased a new color for the regular Xperia Z5 model. Sony’s teaser clearly stated that the device will arrive today, and that’s exactly what happened. Sony has introduced the Pink variant of their Xperia Z5 handset, as you can see in the provided images. ”Choosing a colour is a detailed process. The material of the phone and the design of the curves and edges play an important role and has a great impact on which colour is best suited. We knew we wanted to add pink to the Z5 series from our very first moodboards and sketches as it seemed to compliment the colour palette to the rest of the range,” said Rikke Gertsen Constein, a Lead Designer on this project. The Pink Xperia Z5 will be available starting from February 2016. Now, aside from a different color, this Xperia Z5 is completely identical to the Xperia Z5 handset which was introduced last year. That being said, let’s go over its specifications, shall we.

The Xperia Z5 features a 5.2-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) Triluminous display, along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable internal storage (expandable up to 200GB via a microSD card). This handset is fueled by the Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor along with an Adreno 430 GPU for graphics. The 23-megapixel OIS shooter (f/2.0 aperture, PDAF) is located on the back of this handset, and a 5.1-megapixel snapper can be found up front. The non-removable 2,900mAh battery can be found on the inside of this handset, and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed on this device with Sony’s custom UI available on top of it. This handset also offers quick charging capabilities, thanks to Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0. The Xperia Z5 measures 146 x 72 x 7.3mm, while it weighs 154 grams.
