Specs of the Upcoming Galaxy S7, S7 Edge Leak Again

The rumor mill just keeps churning when it comes to Samsung’s upcoming flagships, that should be announced at the end of February in Barcelona. Ahead of the Mobile World Congress show that is held at the end of every February in Barcelona, Spain. We’ve heard rumors and seen leaks that Samsung is indeed going with two flagships again this year, bringing the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge to its users. The biggest difference between the Galaxy S7, S7 Edge and last year’s Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are the sizes of the two flagships. This year, it looks like Samsung is sticking with a 5.1-inch display on the Galaxy S7 and a 5.5-inch display on the Galaxy S7 Edge. Last year, the two had the same size displays, while the Galaxy S6 Edge+ announced later in the year saw a larger 5.7-inch display.

This leak coming from Weibo, a Chinese micro-blogging site, also claims that the Galaxy S7, S7 Edge might be sporting either an Exynos 8 processor (likely the Exynos 8890) or a Snapdragon 820. We already know that Samsung won’t be first with the Snapdragon 820 as the LeTV Le Max Pro was announced this week at CES with the Snapdragon 820. Both models are also expected to feature 4GB of RAM, which should be enough for your everyday multi-tasking needs. It appears that both models are getting a much needed boost in the battery department. Bringing in a 3,000mAh battery for the Galaxy S7, and a 3,600mAh battery for the Galaxy S7 Edge. By contrast, that’s the largest battery Samsung has put in a flagship (unless you count the Galaxy S6 Active).

Looking at this leak of specs for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, it appears that Samsung have fixed the issues and complaints everyone had with the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge last year. The biggest one being the battery life. We’re looking at a 500mAh bump on the Galaxy S7 and a 1,000mAh bump on the Galaxy S7 Edge. Not bad at all. We should know more around February 20-21st, as Mobile World Congress starts on February 22nd, and press events always take place those two days ahead of the trade show.
