CES 2016 is nearing the end of the first day, and Sony is about to kick off their press conference to showcase what they have to offer this year in consumer electronics. Rumors had been floating around that they might end up showcasing a new Xperia smartphone during the event this week, and if that was the case the press conference would be the place to do it. It isn’t very likely they’ll showcase a new phone this early though as the Xperia Z5 has only been on the market for just a few months.
Although there may not be any phones to show off, it’s quite possible we’ll see some new stuff in the TV space, as well as new camera and audio content. Sony is also poised to launch their highly anticipated PlayStation VR this year, so they may end up showing it off some more at the press conference as it’s much closer to its final form than it was last year. One thing is certain, Sony’s events usually end up showcasing some exciting hardware, and you can watch the livestream here to keep up on what they bring to the table for the following year.
