Zopo is one of many China-based companies who have released devices last year. This company has introduced their Speed 7 and Speed 7 Plus devices, both of which have turned out to be quite capable. Well, we were expecting the Speed 8 to launch in the first quarter of this year, and the company has quite recently confirmed that the phone will be announced during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona next month.
Since then, the company has introduced two additional teaser images, along with the exact time the phone will be announced. The Zopo Speed 8 will be unveiled on February 24th at 10:30AM local time in Barcelona. Zopo has confirmed that the phone will ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, and you can check out two teaser images in the gallery down below. As you can see, the phone’s camera will protrude on the back, and the first image more or less reveals the design of the front side of this device. We don’t exactly get to see the upper part of it, but the vast majority is quite visible. Now, there seems to be a speaker grill on the bottom of the phone, right below Zopo’s logo, but it remains to be seen if this is a speaker, or just a part of the design with a microphone underneath it.
Now, we don’t exactly have official specs of this phone, but they sure have leaked recently, at least partial ones. According to that info, the device will be powered by the Helio X20 64-bit deca-core processor by MediaTek, and you’ll also be able to find 4GB of RAM on the inside. A QHD (2560 x 1440) display has also been mentioned, but we don’t know what size will it be. The 20-megapixel shooter is expected to be available on the back of the Zopo Speed 8, and same can be said for the dual-LED, dual tone flash. Now, judging by the images Zopo shared, this smartphone will sport a metallic trim all around, though it is possible that is just painted plastic, we’ll see. We still don’t know what will the back side of this phone look like, nor which materials will the company use. That’s pretty much it as far as Speed 8 goes, stay tuned for more info, and mark February 24th in your calendars if you’re interested in this device.
