Android Auto has had somewhat of a slow or staggered rate of adoption. There’s a good reason for that. Unlike smartphones, we don’t buy a new car every year, or even every two years. While there are after-market head units available, the majority of them will cost you upwards of a grand to get installed. Meaning that not everyone is embracing Android Auto just yet. However, developers have been jumping on board left and right.
The latest to throw their hat into the Android Auto arena is Deezer Music – who is also part of T-Mobile’s Music Freedom. Deezer is a subscription streaming music service and thanks to its latest update that is rolling out today, it’ll be the latest app to support Android Auto. Meaning you can just plug in your phone in the car and play music from Deezer hands-free. Deezer has over 40 million songs available on their service, along with customized playlists and much more.
With the Android Auto app, you’ll have access to Flow which gives you the ability to stream music that is customized to the songs that fit the listeners taste. It’s available at a single click. Making it simple for those that are in the car. There are also mixes which are recommended selection of songs, also based on listeners moods and tastes. You’ll have access to your favorites, playlists, albums and playlist voice search using Google’s built-in voice search in Android Auto.
The updated Deezer app is available in the Google Play Store today. To access Deezer on Android Auto you’ll need to have it installed on your smartphone and have that smartphone plugged into the car. After that you should see it listed in the media apps on the media tab. You’ll want to login if you haven’t already, before plugging it in, as you won’t be able to in Android Auto. And that will essentially make the app useless in Android Auto. With this update, Deezer joins the likes of Spotify, Google Play Music, SoundCloud, and many other music apps available for Android Auto, with plenty others coming in the future.
