Huawei’s Honor sub-brand has been quite successful ever since it was founded two years ago. They’ve managed to sell 60 million devices in two years, which is commendable, even though this brand basically belongs under the ‘Huawei’ umbrella. Honor has introduced a number of compelling devices lately, and their Honor 5X smartphone seems to be quite popular. This handset has recently launched in both the US and India, and it remains to be seen how well will it sell.
That being said, we do have some new Honor-related info to share with you, considering the fact that this company just partnered up with Deezer. For those of you who don’t know, Deezer is a web-based music streaming service, and quite a popular one at that. Anyhow, the two companies have announced that the Deezer app will come pre-installed on Honor smartphones from here on out. The app will be available on Honor devices in the following countries: Europe, Latin America, Middle East, North Africa, Russia, and South East Asia. Deezer actually has more than 40 million songs in their catalogue, while it also has curated stations, podcasts and audiobooks.
“Honor customers are always looking to find new ways to be entertained on their mobile devices. And Deezer is at the forefront of innovation and entertainment. We are delighted to partner with Deezer as its extensive selection and variety of music and audio service will no doubt, surprise and delight our customers,” said Liu Dan, the Chief Strategy Officer and VP of honor, Huawei Consumer Group. Now, with a free subscription to Deezer, you’ll have access to ‘Flow’ and ‘Mixes’, and the main difference between the free and paid subscription is that you can only skip 5 tracks a day in a free plan, while ads are also a part of this package. The premium subscription is available for $15 a month, with which you can remove ads, get higher audio quality, offline functions and, of course, unlimited streaming. That is it, Honor and Deezer are partnering up, and you can expect Deezer’s app to be available on Honor devices int he future. The two companies did not specify when will the first such device launch, but we’ll keep you in the loop.
