Galaxy S7 Lens Cover Priced at €152.46 by Dutch Retailer

This week was one of the most important periods for Android fans around the world, as last Sunday Samsung introduced the highly expected Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge flagship phones – and their rival LG also introduced their bets for this year as well. With the sibling phones, Samsung also announced several accessories so users can do more with their devices. One of them was the Lens Cover, a special case that gives users more control over the camera, including professional-grade zooming capabilities. When announced, the company didn’t reveal any pricing detail about the accessory, but the wait is now over thanks to a Dutch website that listed the item, revealing how many bucks it will cost.

Central Point is listing the Lens Cover for €152.46 or about $170 including taxes. You can order the item, but it will be delivered only after March 9th. Although the case is interesting, a $170 price-tag can be a barrier for regular users. The camera inside the device is already very good while professional photographers are unlikely to give away their expensive and powerful shooters for a smartphone. During the event, Samsung also announced a 360-degree camera, following the trend of Virtual Reality. The videos captured with the camera can be easily shared on YouTube and Google Street View, it also offers expandable storage and replaceable battery. Also on VR, users who purchase the brand new Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge will get a free Gear VR headset. The Galaxy S7 arrival also brought several case-makers to reveal their offerings for the device, including Speck, and Trident. Screen protector maker Zagg also announced their offering for Samsung’s line, meaning users will have a lot to choose from when the devices hit the market on March 11.

If you missed the specs, both Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge have similar hardware. There are two variants of each handset, one with an octa-core Snapdragon 820 SoC processor running under the hood, and another with Samsung’s own Exynos 8890. Both come with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage with support for microSD cards. Some markets will also receive a 64 GB version. The main camera has a 12-megapixel powered by a larger sensor for improved low-light  performance. The Galaxy S7 has a 5.1-inch AMOLED display while the Galaxy S7 Edge has a larger 5.5-inch screen made of the same technology.
