Zagg To Launch Screen Protectors for Galaxy S7 Line

American manufacturer of smartphone accessories Zagg has announced that it will soon be launching a new line of its so-called InvisibleShield screen protectors designed for the recently unveiled Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge mobile devices. Though both phones are made with Gorilla Glass 4 which isn’t exactly easy to scratch or damage in another way, InvisibleShield protectors are still the kind of an inexpensive accessory one would gladly buy for that extra bit of piece of mind, and that is exactly how Zagg is marketing them.

Those interested in getting one of these screen protectors have three options to choose from: the already available Original and HD protectors, as well as the so-called Glass Contour which has yet to be released. Like its name suggests, the Original InvisibleShield accessories offer the run-of-the-mill protection from dirt, scratching and minor drops, while their HD variants boast some additional durability and better screen clarity. These two options are available for both the S7 and S7 Edge, and while the former is priced at $15, the latter will set you back $25. As for the Glass Contour, it will feature tempered glass protection, i.e. the kind with very smooth and rounded edges that will fit the screen perfectly and offer “remarkably” responsive touch sensitivity. This type of protection is made out of several layers of absorbent silicon, PET film, optically clear adhesive tempered glass after which it got its name, and some oleophobic coating. Most independent tests suggest that tempered glass is about five times stronger than regular glass, so Zagg Glass Contour may very well be worth the $40 price tag that was announced for it. As for when it’ll be available, the Utah-based company is only saying “soon”, so it’s yet to be seen what that exactly means.

The Original and HD InvisibleShield screen protectors can already be ordered from Zagg by following the link below while more info on the aforementioned Glass Contour option is expected to be revealed by this time next month. As for those who don’t want to stop at their screens, Tech21 just announced their new protection cases for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, and there’s no doubt that more competition will soon follow suit.
