Huawei is set to have their big Mobile World Congress press conference tomorrow in Barcelona. We haven’t heard much of what the company may announce in Barcelona as of yet. Considering they announced the Mate 8 at CES last month, and it’s a little too early for the P9, it’s tough to say what they may have in store. However, we heard earlier this week that the MediaPad T2 Pro 10 will be coming to Mobile World Congress this week. After Evleaks posted that information, we now have a few live pictures of the MediaPad T2 Pro 10. A site coming out of Finland, has a few images of the tablet.
According to the site, the MediaPad T2 Pro 10 is slated to feature a 10.1 touch screen which will be 1920×1200, along with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 powering the show this time around. We’re also looking at 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage along with a microSD card slot. On the backside, we’re looking at a 8-megapixel camera along with a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter. Other specs have not been mentioned just yet. However, with Huawei’s press conference happening tomorrow, it likely won’t be too far off.
This tablet doesn’t appear to be of the high-end variety for Huawei. Considering the small amount of RAM as well as the processor and screen dimensions. Making it pretty likely that this tablet will be a low-cost one for Europe and perhaps a few other regions. With Mobile World Congress happening in Spain, it’s more than likely that this tablet will be available in Europe, if it is announced tomorrow at their press event. Huawei has made other tablets before, under the “MediaPad” name. None of them have been very popular in the west. Although that could change as this would be their second tablet announced already in 2016.
With the tablet market seemingly decreasing every month, it’s a bit surprising to see companies like Huawei (Alcatel also announced a tablet today) coming up with tablets and attempting to sell them. Perhaps they feel that the market will start to pick up again in the future. It looks to be a pretty decent tablet, that can handle most things. We should have more tomorrow during Huawei’s press event.
