Inbox by Gmail today is rolling out a fresh new update to Android (as well as iOS and the web) which brings a few new Snooze options. We’ve always had the ability to snooze some items to a specific date, or even for the next week or day. However, the Gmail team decided to give us a few other default options in this update to Inbox. Now you are able to snooze an email until later on in the week (which defaults to Wednesday), and this weekend. So if you got an email for your kids soccer game on Saturday with information about where the game is, you can snooze it until Saturday and it’ll be there for you. Without keeping your Inbox all cluttered up.
The Gmail team realizes that everyone’s “weekend” isn’t the same. Some work on the weekend and their “weekend” may be during the week, or they may have just a one-day “weekend”. Luckily, they have added an option to adjust the weekend snooze time. So you can decide which days are your weekend. Much like you can already adjust the morning, afternoon and evening snooze times. Some really great additions to the Inbox by Gmail app for Android, as well as iOS and the web. The team says that these updates are rolling out to the app and web app right now, in a staged roll out. The roll out should take about a week to get to everyone.
Inbox is the second email app from the Gmail team. It is dedicated to making email easier to handle, as well as being able to keep your inbox pretty empty. Something that many of us already struggle with these days. With Inbox you are able to snooze emails, as well as mark them as done which will either delete them or archive them, depending on your settings. Inbox also bundles emails together. Say you are booking a trip to the Bahamas for a vacation and you have your flight confirmation, hotel confirmation and your rental car confirmation in your email. Inbox will bundle those together for you, so you can find them quickly. Inbox is a great way to deal with email, especially if you use email for everything.
