It is not big news about the availability of the new Moto 360 Sport in Canada – Telus has listed it on their website since January 11 and shortly after, Best Buy got into the picture, but it can now be officially purchased on the Canadian Google Store. The price is $380 CAD, which is the same as the second-generation steel version of the Moto 360. While a few colors are available through Best Buy, Google is offering it in our favorite color – black. The Moto 360 Sport model is one of three that Motorola offered besides the Moto 360 model for men and the Moto 360 for women, which was just a smaller case size.
At first, one may think that they are getting a cheaper device than the Moto 360 in steel, yet paying the same price. However, the Moto 360 Sport takes on its own ‘active’ look for the sports and exercise lovers. It has its own comfortable one-piece silicone outer casing and it does not have a removable watchstrap, but is one solid piece. This is much more effective for running, exercising, sweating and/or rain shower you may have to run through, as it will not absorb sweat and even has side ventilation channels to cool down your wrists. It also comes with Motorola’s exclusive AnyLight Hybrid display for better visibility in the outdoor sunlight you may experience during a run. It is the first display that will actually reflect the natural sunlight to make it easier to glance at when you are running. It comes with a built-in GPS so you can track your workout with having your phone with you. Distance traveled, pace, lap times, and more are recorded so you can synced the data to your favorite fitness apps.
The Moto 360 Sport is 45mm x 11.5mm and weighs in at 54 grams. The display is 1.73-inches and 360 x 325 pixels or 263 PPI and protected by Gorilla Glass 3. It is packing 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage and is powered by a 300 mAh battery. It has dual-digital microphones, WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 LE with an IP67 rating for water resistance. Of course it is running the latest Android Wear and will connect to any Android device running Android 4.3 or higher or an iPhone 5 and later running iOS 8.2 or higher.
