Motorola's Invincible Moto X Force Heads to India

Rounding out 2015 for Motorola was the Droid Turbo 2 (pictured above), it was a device that offered users some pretty standard features from a Motorola device, but had one pretty special feature, and that was that the glass covering the 5.4-inch Quad HD display is shatterproof and now, the device is launching in India. The Droid Turbo 2 was also released as the Moto X Force outside of the US, and it’s that device that’ll be launching in India, starting at a pretty steep RS 49,999 ($735~).

The new Moto X Force will be launching with a 2.0 Ghz Snapdragon 810 under-the-hood along with 3GB of RAM and either 32GB or 64GB of expandable storage. One thing that the Moto X Force has over other devices is its great battery life, with a 3,760 mAh battery and a smaller display, this is one phone that handles going the distance pretty well. Still, the main attraction is the ShatterShield display, which is Motorola’s unique name for the layered glass sitting in front of that 5.4-inch display. It’s essentially like having a display and a tempered-glass screen protector all-in-one, along with some other interesting technology put to work. For all intents and purposes however, this is essentially a smaller version of the Moto X Pure with a tougher display, the same 21-megapixel camera is at work here, and there’s something to be said for having an invincible smartphone display.

The device will cost RS 49,999 for the 32GB variant and RS 53,999 for the 64GB variant, and will sadly only be available in either Black or White with the Ballistic Nylon finish, there won’t be any Moto Maker fun here for our Indian readers. It’ll be available from Flipkart as well as Amazon and other retailers come February 8th. For those interested to hear how good a phone the Moto X Force is, they can read our Droid Turbo 2 review here, which is essentially the same phone It’s nice to see Motorola expanding the Moto X Force to more territories, especially as the Droid line of devices have rarely left the US over the past few years, but some Moto Maker options would be good to see, too.
