After pre-orders for Samsung’s next two flagship smartphones, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge became available in the US this Tuesday, February 23rd, numerous aficionados of the South Korean consumer electronics manufacturer were on the lookout for early shipping notices. This is all in spite of the fact that Samsung itself stated the phone will officially launch on March 11th. However, as we’ve seen in the past, early shipping notices are always a realistic possibility, especially when Samsung and T-Mobile are concerned. Last year, T-Mobile started sending them for Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge as soon as March 28th despite neither phone being slated for release before April 10th, and it seems like something similar is happening again this year.
As reported by several Reddit users who already pre-ordered their latest Galaxy device and inquired when will they be able to get their hands on it, T-Mobile representatives had some rather positive news for them. Both the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are apparently already being packed and will start shipping as early as this Monday, February 29th. In other words, if you already placed your preorder and depending on the shipping option you chose, it’s very likely that you’ll have your brand new Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge in hands before it officially hits store shelves in March. Granted, a received shipping notice doesn’t necessarily mean your order is actually shipping as it’s automatically sent as soon as a label is created, but last year’s developments make us hopeful.
As Samsung revealed earlier this week, everyone who pre-ordered Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge will also receive a free Gear VR headset along with a 6-game bundle which amounts to around $150 in value. However, it’s currently unclear whether this promotion will be available outside of the United States. As for their price tags, the cheapest you’ll be able to get them is on a 30-month contract for $23.17 and $26.50 per month from AT&T, though generally speaking, regardless of your choice of a carrier, the Galaxy S7 will set you back a little under 700 bucks in total, while the Galaxy S7 Edge will be about a 100 dollars more expensive.
