The two most anticipated devices of the MWC have already been announced, the LG G5 and the Samsung Galaxy S7. LG took a radically different approach with their new flagship, as it is built with a metallic unibody for the first time and not forgetting that the modular design allows it to feature a removable battery and expandable storage options. Samsung took a more conventional approach with their flagship smartphone, the design is based on the one that was introduced last year, with only a few changes, but still, the company managed to improve some aspects to make a solid offering. Accessory makers are already adding some cases for these phones so that they can be purchased along with the yet to be released phones.
California-based Trident Case has now announced a variety of case in different designs and colors for the LG G5 and Samsung Galaxy S7. The Krios Dual Case is built with a durable Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) and a hardened polycarbonate to protect phones from minor bumps and scratches, it is completely transparent to show off the design of the phone. The Aegis Pro Case is a more rugged solution, it features 360° shock absorption as it is built with a polycarbonate frame and Thermo Plastic Elastomer (TPE) interior, thus, creating two layers of protection. Installation is quite easy, as the back slides over the front and this case meets Military Standard MIL-STD-810F to protect the phone against vibration and drops. Both cases are available for the LG G5 and Samsung Galaxy S7, the Krios Dual is priced at $19.99 and the Aegis Pro is priced at $29.99, they are available to pre-order.
There’s another case for the Galaxy S7, it’s called Kraken A.M.S. and it is their strongest and most durable offering. It features five layers of protection thanks to its shock-absorbing TPE and hardened polycarbonate in the interior and exterior of the case. There’s also a detachable aluminum stand for media consumption that makes room for more accessories when it’s not attached. This also meets Military Standard MIL-STD-810F for Drop, Vibration, Dust, Sand and Rain. It is priced at $49.99 and it is also available now for pre-order.
