ZTE is one of the largest Chinese smartphone manufacturers. This company has released quite a few devices last year, and even though they still can’t measure up to Huawei or Xiaomi as far as sales go, ZTE has made significant progress in 2015. The company’s ‘Axon’ and ‘Nubia’ lineups have been selling really well, even though ‘Nubia’ devices were confined to Asia. Well, it seems like ZTE will launch their new Nubia devices all around the world this year, as they have announced the availability of nubia.com website, and basically confirmed that the ‘Nubia’ brand is becoming a global brand.
ZTE had plenty to say during the Consumer Electronics Show (MWC) back in January, though we didn’t hear much from the company during the Mobiel World Congress (MWC) last month. Well, it seems like ZTE is preparing to launch a couple of new devices, at least according to the latest leaks. ZTE’s upcoming flagship has surfaced on GFXBench quite recently under the codename ‘ZTE A2017‘. This handset is said to sport the Snapdragon 820 SoC and 4GB of RAM. Well, a new ZTE-branded handset surfaced recently (ZTE NX529J), this time the listing appeared on TENAA, China’s equivalent to the FCC. Now, judging by the screen size, this could be the Nubia Z11 Mini, or whatever ZTE opts to call it in the end. The phone sports a 5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. This phone is powered by the a mid-range octa-core SoC running at 1.5GHz, which could easily be the Snapdragon 616 or 617. The 16-megapixel snapper is placed on the back of this phone, while there’s an 8-megapixel shooter available up front. The 2,750mAh battery is also available here, and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is also listed here, though the phone might ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow by the time ZTE launches it.
Now, as far as the design is concerned, it is quite easy to recognize this is one of ZTE’s Nubia device, even without the branding on the back. The circular capacitive home key is present here, as are some subtle red accents. The fingerprint scanner is placed on the back fo the phone, and above it, you’ll notice the rear-facing camera and the LED flash. We, of course, cannot confirm that this handset is the Nubia Z11 Mini, but judging by its design and specs, that is quite likely.
